Today I carried scrabble
in my backpack
for the entire day

and for class,
I forgot my notebook.
It was a beautiful mistake.

I wish someone
would have played
scrabble with me.

Today a young boy I work with
at an elementary school
said tar was falling into his ears,
from the sky.

There is tar falling into my ears too.
There is a silence

in the pads between
the spaces of my fingers.
I want to bury myself there.

I am a graveyard, I reply.

Someone plays a flat wood piece
